Construction CAD Technician Summary/Objective:
GeoPoint Surveying, Inc.
is a land surveying firm with multiple locations, specializing in land development, remote sensing, energy, geospatial mapping, commercial surveys, and subsurface utility engineering.
A CAD technician, generally known as a draftsman, uses CAD software to create technical drawings and plans for products and parts used in the engineering, construction, and manufacturing industries.
CAD technicians work with architects and design engineers to understand the requirements of their initial designs and turn them into accurate and detailed technical drawings in 2D and 3D models.
Essential Job Functions:
Prepare Record Drawings from Field As-Built Surveys per County Requirements Calculate Staking Sheets for Field Crews Prepare Survey Drawings Coordinate with Project Managers, Field Crews, and Client Perform QA/QC Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Construction Surveying background Degree from Technical School or College Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Similar Software Minimum of 2 years' experience Strong organizational skills, Problem Solver and Team Player Ability to read and understand civil & architectural plans Able to enter time Use GeoPoint server file system to catalog all data Utilize GeoPoint layering system Utilize GeoPoint styles Complete GeoPoint Beginner CAD courses Understand dimensioning and orientation Import survey data Understand labeling of improvements and occupation Prepare a formboard tie-in/foundation survey Able to meet deadlines Able to revise redlines and send to signing surveyor Able to communicate to field crews if work is missing Complete GeoPoint Intermediate CAD courses Understand different municipalities' requirements Other:
Knowledge of file system is incredibly important Physical Demands:
