The field supervision of construction projects to include interfacing with the project owner or agent, scheduling crews and subcontractors, communicating to the Sales/Marketing Estimators any claims and determining as built quantities of work performed.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Project Superintendent directly reports to, and is accountable to the Area Project Manager/Construction Manager.
EDUCATION Minimum qualifications High School Graduate with at least five years of experience in construction supervision.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS Preferred:
Traffic Control Supervisor Certification & Asphalt Paving Levels 1 & 2.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES Leadership and negotiating skills The uses of conversational, analytical and observational skills, which demonstrate an ability to organize, control and manage all areas of field operations for the road construction industry Knowledge of materials, equipment, methods and techniques used in road construction Knowledge of possible defects and faults in work and of stages where such faults and defects are most readily ascertained Ability to understand and interpret terms and specifications of contracts Ability to conduct effective inspections in determining contract compliance Ability to calculate figures and mathematical concepts Knowledge of construction lien laws Computer Use:
Excel, Word, Viewpoint, Primavera JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Project Superintendent's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Field operation, asphalt plants, lab and office environment Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs.
, carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
