Within this operating model, the purpose of the Business Acceleration division is to expand and diversify marine participation and generate new sources of value for Brunswick through boating services and business model innovation.
Business Acceleration primarily focuses on end consumer solutions (B2C) and opportunities that increase new boater participation.
The acquisition of Freedom Boat Club in May 2019 was a game-changer and established Brunswick (and Business Acceleration) as a leader in boat clubs and the Boating-as-a-Service marketplace.

Job Summary With over 2,000 boats in the corporate fleet spanning four North American geographic regions and continued growth expected, the Fleet Service Director is a newly created role that will develop and deploy operating best practices to ensure all Freedom boats 1) are maintained to acceptable cosmetic and mechanical standards, 2) meet or exceed well-defined standards for our member experience, and 3) produce industry-leading EURoeup-time.
EUR? This will require the development of best practices and operational standards for all aspects of fleet maintenance, including initial prep/rigging as boats are received by each regional Marine Operations Center (MOC), maintenance while in service (typically 1-3 years, then replaced with a new boat) for Freedom members, and support of the eventual retirement out of the fleet and sale into the preowned boat market.
This will result in achieving the lowest total cost of fleet ownership (EURoeTCOEUR?) possible from the date of acquisition to the date of liquidation.
Responsibilities:
Manage, develop, and lead MOC team members (including direct supervision of MOC leads in multiple locations) Create systems and reporting to manage the flow of work at MOC and docks for all activity Oversee the design and launch of future/new repair and service facilities in other geographic regions Optimize process for receiving new boats and readying for use in fleet use For the prep, rigging, and make ready process for each new boat received, process map all required steps complete with target times (may vary by craft type) and skill levels required Benchmark each MOC's actuals vs.
the defined target and ensure each location meets/exceeds target Clearly identify process constraints and potential solutions Propose ways to optimize process and drive cost savings / operational efficiency Ensure proper procedures and processes are documented and appropriate training courses and procedures are standardized and implemented Review and refine all maintenance and care standards for active boats in the fleet (cosmetic and mechanical) Compare standard to current execution of maintenance/care, update/refine as appropriate Clearly define the protocols for which maintenance work occurs at the dock vs.

other, compare execution of protocols to standard and update/refine as appropriate Establish and optimize the inventory levels, flow and function of a dedicated parts department Ensure Fleetio (fleet maintenance software) is kept up-to-date with boat condition, hours and service/maintenance logs Establish a catalog of warranty coverage by OEM partner Define and implement action plans for warranty repair in a timely manner Institute a warranty reimbursement recovery program to ensure appropriate cost recovery Where 3rd party support is used for fleet services, analyze and develop the go-forward strategy; outsource, insource, hybrid Develop and deploy opportunities to improve fleet condition and associated best practices Oversee the design and startup of future repair and service facilities across the country (which may be combined with end-of life refurbishment capabilities over time) Coordinate with fleet liquidation and refurbishment team members to optimize TCO and available labor utilization Serve as a subject matter expert (over time) to Freedom's franchise network, sharing experience and supporting data to help optimize franchisee performance (and listening for best practices from existing franchisee fleet maintenance operations) Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in marine or related industry service departments with demonstrated success in hourly team management Lean Six Sigma certification (minimum of green belt) preferred Demonstrated ability to drive change/improvement across multiple facilities Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or other specific systems Role is based in Southwest Florida (either Venice-area or Tarpon Springs-area markets), with some travel as needed to Marine Operations Centers in other North American regions (Southeast, Northeast, and Midwest) We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
